Christmas time isn't just celebrating a holiday. To me, it's celebrating an entire season. This is my favorite time of the year: the snowy, beautiful winter. I am overly in love with this time of year. From skiing, to hot chocolate, the cold brisk air, special foods, and so much more, I just love it all.

At the University of Delaware, it currently feels like winter although it's still November and before Thanksgiving. It's as if we skipped Autumn all together. Mother nature is always unpredictable, but hopefully this will be a very white Christmas! I know winter is coming when I feel the cold brisk air while I walk throughout campus and on Main Street. As cold as it is, it is very refreshing to me. This being one of my favorite things I enjoy about winter, I really take all of it in. Breathing in this air is also so fresh and clean to me. It's an amazing feeling when you compare it to the overly hot summer days with the high humidities. This is the first sign of Winter and Christmas time to me.

Second is the special seasonal drink from Starbucks, the dark roast Christmas hot coffee. I take advantage of this and have at least one cup of this roast almost every day. The bean is so delicious that you really can't resist ordering it. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend you going to Starbucks right now and trying it! I promise, you won't be let down. If you know what good coffee tastes like, expect this to be one of your newly favorites.

This season is also a time filled with many presents from friends and family. Although I am 19 years old, I still get 8 presents for the 8 nights of Hannukah. I do not celebrate Christmas, however, I enjoy all the little decorations, the music, and the movies. Some of the classic movies I enjoy include Deck the Halls, The Polar Express, and A Christmas Story. They display everything I enjoy about this time of year and more.

My birthday also falls during this time, February 8th to be exact. I really enjoy celebrating birthdays, especially mine. It's the only day of the year where I feel like I can do whatever I want, as it is used as an excuse to do the things I don't really do on a daily basis.

Last but not least, the most remarkable thing for me during this season is skiing. This activity has been very meaningful to me ever since I was a little kid. My family and I have been skiing in Mount Snow, Vermont for basically my entire life. We go skiing here at this time every year. I love everything about skiing, the weather, the people, the atmosphere, and most importantly feeling free. As you can see, I'm very passionate about skiing.

It's very invigorating to get to the top of the mountain and ski all the way to the bottom with no trouble. Of course, it's not easy when you start, but since I've been skiing for my entire life, I am a pretty skillful skier and enjoy more of the harder trails with a chance of a challenge for me. I can honestly go on and on about skiing forever.

Christmas isn't just a holiday, it's a time to celebrate the joys in life with your family and friends. All of these reasons make the Christmas time and winter season so much more special to me and consequently, my favorite time of the year.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
