With Christmas quickly approaching families all over the world are busy with one of the biggest traditions of the season- baking cookies. My mom's own personal list of Christmas cookies she makes each year inspired me to make the ultimate list that matches the personality and characteristics of each zodiac sign.

Aries- White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal

Aries can be described as ambitious risk-takers who have high expectations of self and situations. The mixture of brown sugar, oatmeal, white chocolate, and sweet and tangy cranberries all come together in a white chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookie to create an explosive and daring flavor that is sure to leave you wanting more than just one.

Taurus- Buckeye

Tauruses can be described as strong, stubborn, and willing to keep their feelings buried deep down, but appreciative of the beautiful things in life. A buckeye cookie is usually a chocolate or peanut butter cookie that contains a chocolate peanut butter candy in the middle that when baked, melts deep down in the center and keeps the cookie looking and tasting thick, beautiful, and flavorful.

Gemini- Gingerbread

Geminis can be described as versatile, adaptable, and especially sociable. A gingerbread cookie usually has the same sort of taste no matter where you go but it can be decorated and designed with plenty of different toppings in order to make it anything you want it to be.

Cancer- Chocolate Chip

Cancers have a deep love for home and value family, friends, and a stable, secure life above anything else. What reminds you more of home and stability than a nice warm chocolate chip cookie? The sweet and chewy taste of this classic cookie is sure to comfort you and bring a sense of nostalgia back from your childhood Christmases when everything was a lot simpler.

Leo- Turtle

Leos can be described as bold, courageous, and daring and they love being in the spotlight. A turtle cookie consists of the bold combination of chocolate cookie base, layered with delicious caramel and nuts and is sure to be the cookie that stands out in both appearance and flavor on any cookie tray this holiday season.

Virgo- Pizzelle

Virgos tend to have high expectations of themselves and are overly critical when it comes to details and perfection. The pizzelle is a thin, yet complex cookie that has a powerful taste and a beautiful intricate outer design that is sure to catch the eye of anyone this holiday season.

Libra- Oatmeal Raisin

Libra’s lives consist of trying to find a balance between the demands of the outside with the desires and needs on the inside. They spend a lot of time trying to find this harmony while also surrounding themselves with beauty and art. An oatmeal raisin cookie isn’t the most appealing but it is surrounded by other beautiful cookies on the tray and its inner flavor is the perfect balance of sweet and salty that will leave it being one of the first cookies to go.

Scorpio- Frosted Sugar Cookie

Scorpios enjoy big and bold lifestyles but usually feel misunderstood. Usually found on shelves when you first enter your grocery store, these bright and colorfully decorated sugar cookies can often be overlooked. But when you forgot to order those cookies for your holiday party and it comes down to the wire, the store bought frosted sugar cookies are always a crowd pleaser.

Sagittarius- Lemon Drop

Sagittarii has a bright energy that constantly keeps them moving and wanting to reinvent themselves. These refreshing and zesty cookies have a vibrant and fruity taste that is good on its own but can be topped with a layer of powdered sugar to make them sweeter and mix up the flavor.

Capricorn- Sugar Cookie Cutouts

Capricorns can be described as practical problem solvers who like to plan their lives and each stage of it to create a blueprint they can follow. Sugar cookies themselves are a classic holiday cookie. But cutouts specifically can be designed and shaped any way you plan them out.

Aquarius- Ricotta Cheese

Aquarii can be described as unorthodox, people pleasers who may confuse other people until they get to know them. Ricotta cheese cookies aren’t the most traditional cookies and might sound unappealing to many people due to the main ingredient (ricotta cheese), but once people try them, they usually end up being a new favorite cookie for the holiday season.

Pisces- Snickerdoodle

Pisces can be described as old souls who are devoted and content with remaining in the shadows. Snickerdoodles are cinnamon flavored cookies that may not be as exciting as new types of cookies but they are a Christmas classic that always makes an appearance on the tray year after year that people couldn’t live without.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
