What Beauty Truly Is

We are told by the society that beauty means the sharpest eyebrow shape, the slimmest body, perfectly straight hair, long eyelashes, and tall people. If you have ever seen a beauty commercial, the model has all of these characteristics. But why is beauty only seen as being perfect?

Being beautiful to me is not looking like those girls in the commercial, don't get me wrong them too are gorgeous but I believe there is more to beauty. Beauty is a loud laugh that shows just how happy you are or they are the freckles that make you look stunning. It is being kind to others and fighting for what you belive in. It's your thick dark eyebrows that make you look bold and confident, and the muscles that show your power and how truly strong you are. It is the wrinkles on your face that show your natural beauty and the curly locks that make you look like a flawless human. They are stretch marks on you that are like paintings that show growth. Being beautiful means being big or being tiny, because it doesn't matter. What matters is that you look great either way. Beauty is art and you yourself are a masterpiece.

Always remind yourself that beauty is not something someone else tells you, only you can define what being beautiful truly means. This world is a work of art and you and millions of others are the reason for that, so next time you are feeling down about your looks, know that there is someone out there who loves the way you look.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
