Welcome To The Family, Grandlittles
Amanda Perryman

Hey grandlittles, I am first so excited that you decided to join the amazing sisterhood and stick with it. Second of all, I am thrilled that you now have an amazing big. Our little family grew and I am so excited to get to meet you. Although you don't know who your big is yet or who in the world I am, I'm beyond excited for you to meet the two of us.

I know you've got an amazing big now, trust me, I know. I knew she was perfect from when I met her on Bid Day. Since you and your big know each other so well I wanted to take a second and tell you a couple things from your grandbig. First of all, welcome to our little family. We are super excited to have you.

Although I am not actively present at all of your events, I am a phone call away if you or your big ever need anything. I will do my best to be present in your life so you don't feel like I am some foreign entity who only appears on big occasions. I live in town so I'm only a text or phone call away. (Your big knows this all too well.)

If you ever need suggestions on good places to eat in town, ask me. I grew up here so I know this place pretty well. I am also always down to go with you if you ever need someone to spend time with.

Also, I will make sure to be as much of a friend and mentor that you need me to be. You will learn this from your big but I am very protective of anyone important in my life. So I will do anything to make sure you're okay. Whether it be you need boy advice, someone to grab you some cold medicine, or someone to just talk to I will be there on the amount that you need me.

You've got an amazing big. Do not ever doubt that. I, however, wanted to let you know that I am there for you if you need me.

All in all, I am a phone call away for anything you might need Grandbig to do. It's like the saying goes,"If big says no, call grandbig."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
