Welcome To Endicott

Sometimes being small is not a bad thing.

Welcome To Endicott
Endicott

First of all welcome to the nest everybody, so your probably wondering why Endicott should get a whole article dedicated to it's self? It is just a college some might say a small college at that that sits in the hills of Beverly that over looks the ocean. I know sounds awful right? But its not about the views of the ocean or that fact that we are a small campus. The thing that makes Endicott so great is the fact that the people care about you here.

To your professors you are not a number, your somebody with a name. It is harder to focus on one student in a big university because their are so many students to worry about. Here at Endi your professors will see you in-between classes and say hello, they have real conversations with you and also just ask what your future plans are. Also another thing is that your professors want to see you succeed, they don't want to see you fail. I know right shocker, but really they might be super hard on you and their class might be awful especially those eight am's remember though they are there to help you, guide you and even make you lose your mental insanity.

So your probably saying, yeah okay those are just the professors so what, whats the big deal? Well professors are not the only thing that make Endicott so great, Endicott makes you think about your future before you even think you need to. As a requirement for Endicott everybody has to complete internships, and your senior year you must complete a semester long internship. I know I probably just freaked out half of the readers that will read this article, but really the internship experience is a great thing. The internships is what going to put you over the edge of those who are also trying to find jobs in your field of study. Image a case where it is you and another person fighting for the same job. Now, you have job experience because of the internship you did back in sophomore year the other person doesn't, therefore you are more likely to get the job then the person who didn't do the internship.

Alright enough about your future and professors, lets talk about Loca, Loca is right under the dining hall and always has something going on. They hold things like parties for the holidays and a number of other things. Let's not forget that they hold BINGO! Alright, bingo here at Endi is not like your grandma would play with her bingo group. Bingo here gets crazy and I mean crazy! Everybody comes to bingo and you can win killer prizes. It's a crazy time, but the most fun you will ever have while playing bingo. I have met some of my closes friends at bingo night. So to me this is what makes Endicott great, and I am damn proud to say Endicott is my college.

Disclaimer this is not a diss to big universities just sometimes bigger isn't always better.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
