Congratulations, you did it! You got accepted into Florida State University. Whether this is your dream school or merely another school in the stack of acceptances, your accomplishments deserve to be celebrated. After 13 years of schooling, late nights studying, and probably a mental breakdown or two, you are one step closer to starting the next chapter in your life.
Now I'm sure for most of you, this acceptance leaves you with more unanswered questions and things to think about in the upcoming months. I had the same questions when I received my acceptance letter over two years ago. Trust me, it's natural to feel uncertain. I had no idea where I wanted to go, how I would make friends once I got there, or even how I would manage to survive on my own. Now, I know this year the questions are a lot bigger than that after all you've missed so much already, and I'm sure all you want is a normal college experience.
Although I can't tell you the answer to all those questions, I can tell you that this next chapter of your life is one to look forward to. In just a matter of a few short months, you'll be a high school graduate and preparing to move out on your own for the first time. You'll get to start planning your dorm room (if you haven't already), joining Facebook groups in hopes of finding new friends, and soaking in every last moment of high school you get. Now, I know when you put it like that, it sounds sadder opposed to happier. Don't worry though it's only sad for the time being. Before you know it, you'll be sitting in your dorm room laughing with your college friends about the stupid thing you did on Friday night.
So don't worry if today opening your acceptance letter left you feeling a little uncertain. It's only the beginning. After all, they really don't mean it when they say high school is the best four years of your life. So congratulations again! Take a moment to celebrate everything you've accomplished so far and everything you have to look forward to. And don't forget Go Noles!
