Imagine being 10 years old and being told by your family members that you need to lose weight. Imagine changing your habits at the young age of 10 and developing an eating disorder that has followed you through high school and partially into college. Imagine never feeling like the boys would look at you because you're "too fat." Imagine that, for me.
Every year, people make a resolution to go to the gym, eat healthier, get in shape, lose weight by March, or something of that nature. Some people choose to lose weight to get revenge on people like toxic family members or ex-boyfriends/girlfriends. I fell into that umbrella of wanting to lose weight as a way to get revenge, but that wasn't the way to go, and that's why I failed every year.
There are commercials and television shows that say, "Get the best body to show off at the beach!" or "Make your ex wish he kept you." That's defeating the purpose of losing weight.
Losing weight is not just about getting skinny or "thick." Losing weight is about changing your life around to lead a healthier lifestyle that will improve your health. When you lose weight, you'll have more energy to do more of the things that you love. When you lose weight, you'll build your self-confidence because you can fit into those jeans you've been dying to get. You'll make better food choices and be mindful of when you go out to eat because you'll love yourself more. Love and revenge don't go hand-in-hand.

The television show, "Revenge Body" is very contradictory. People go on there to change their life, sure, but you can't just jump into the hardcore workouts like celebrities who have had work done to enhance their bodies. Stars buy their bodies, but don't buy yours. Eat right and fall in love with food in a good way — cooking is better because you control what goes into the food and how much. Starting with smaller, less intense workouts is better because you'll be able to move up and figure out what works best for you.
It's all about you, not about anybody else.
To love your body is a slow (sometimes painful) process and it should be enjoyed. Others will see results before you because you'll glow differently. You may not realize it, but trust me, it's worth the wait.
