Thankfully, Spring Break 2016 is right around the corner. But if we are being real—the days before break take just as long to pass by as the two months of the semester we've already completed. It's like when you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you're still so far away—and if any non-college student understands this pain, it's Michael Scott.
Realizing spring break is in a week... which is actually far away and filled with responsibilities.
But the problem is you've already turned your brain to vacation mode.
Then, you realize that midterm date on the syllabus you haven't look at in weeks is actually in three days... not after break, like you planned.
Meanwhile, most of your friend's professors seem to be letting them off easy this week, and they keep asking why you're stressed.
You watch everyone leaving for happy hour as you pack up your stuff for another all-nighter at the library.
Checking social media from your study room, seeing all the pictures and videos like:
The mid-week depression hits you, and death is the only suitable description.
A trip to the puppy store becomes the only way to bring happiness to your life.
You realize smiling through the pain is the only option.
You decide with a few days left until spring break, it's time to hit the gym.
And when that doesn't work, getting a tan is the next best thing.
You look good, and you've convinced yourself you're "practically" already on break.
Everyone's asking why you're not studying, and all you have to say is:
But they make you realize that you have no choice but to face reality for a few more days...
So, you stay up all night cramming for an exam you aren't prepared for, and walk into your 8 a.m. like:
And then, by your afternoon exam, you're basically a zombie.
To your surprise, the exam actually covered the material you studied, and the last class before break was canceled.
Your post-spring break week of hell is over, and there is only one thing left to do—celebrate.
