Weekends are long when they start on Wednesdays.

All college kids have at least something in common, right? Well, here at Illinois State University, we have our own way of doing things. Sure, we still have certain things in common with other universities, but there are definitely some things that set us apart from the rest. Here is a typical week in the lives of students at Illinois State University.

Monday:

Good morning, ISU Redbirds! It is officially the start of your (work) week and you could not be more exhausted from the weekend. Monday always rolls around much too soon and this is the Monday-est Monday ever. As you throw on your oversized t-shirt and head to your 9:35 A.M. class, you know today will be a long one. After attending your weekly chapter meeting around 9 P.M., you head to Milner (because the only club open on a Monday is good ole' Club Milner). On a real note, the only thing getting you through today is the fact that is it (almost) hump day, which means you will be indulging yourself in pitchers and cheese balls before you know it!

Tuesday:

Brewehas Tuesday? Definitely not for everyone. You're either a Brewehas person or you're not a Brewehas person, but if you're a Brewehas person, you are most likely a religious goer on Tuesday's. You might stay in making yourself dinner and posting it on your Snapchat story: "so domestic." Either way, Tuesday just means you're one day closer to Wednesday. And we all know what that is.

Wednesday:

Today is the day for all 21-year-olds! Do you need a break from reality? Go to the Pub. Want to grab some cheese balls and cheap beer? Go to the Pub. Want to hang out inside? Got to the Pub. Want to hang out in the beer garden? Go to the Pub. Want dinner? Go to the Pub. Want to have a good time for less than fifteen bucks? Go to the Pub. Want to go for an hour? Go to Pub. Want to be drunk by 8:30 P.M.? Go to Pub. You. Live. Breathe. Pub. Wednesday. The end.

Thursday:

You probably didn't make it to class this morning, but that's okay because it's Chaser's Thursday! If you're a part of Greek life, or just love a good time, you will be seeing the "Good Times, Good Friends" sign tonight. You'll spend your night avoiding that frat guy or sorority girl, only to end up at Daddios after Chasers. You will also most likely order Insomnia tonight. Cheers to the freakin' weekend!

Friday:

Unless you're an underclassman, you didn't have class this morning! Praise the Lord. Fridays are meant for sleeping in, consuming excessive amounts of water in hopes to replenish your body, and staying in. Friday is like the chill day of the weekend, the least "lit." You can be found going to the movies, hitting dinner and drinks in Uptown Normal, splurging at Target, or hanging with your friends or significant other at their apartment in your PJs.

Saturday:

Darty at Lodge, IL? See you at 11 A.M.! Gameday? Whether you're going to the game or not, let's tailgate! You will also hang out with plenty of dogs today... for some reason, Saturdays at ISU are for the pups.

Sunday:

Sunday Scaries are a real thing here at ISU.You basically start out your day saying, "I am never drinking again" while you stare at the homework you have on ReggieNet.

So you see, between classes, clinical hours, crying over homework and frat guys and avoiding sorority girls at Chasers, we really do have it made here at Illinois State University. Sure, it's not all fun and games, but this is our one and only college experience. After all, weekends are long when they start on Wednesdays.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
