The NFL is all about the best football athletes playing a game they love. Some games during the week are more important than others. Wether the two teams are rivals or fighting for a spot to be in the top of their division, week 12 of football is upon us, and here are my two key match-up predictions for this week.
New Orleans vs. Los Angeles
Both teams are ironically leading their division. The Saints are 8-2, while the Rams are 7-3. I expect a shootout with a score of 32-28 with the Saints coming out on top.
The Saints have a strong running game with their already respected passing aerial attack. They are coming into this game off of an impressive comeback overtime win against the Washington Redskins and not to mention, an 8 game winning streak. I think that momentum will carry them through this challenging contest.
On the contrary, the Rams are coming off of a 17 point loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Their stout defense and their MVP candidate running back, Todd Gurley, are looking to rebound from their tough loss.
I think the Saints have a slight edge against the Rams because of their experienced quarterback and coach. The Rams have an inexperienced team and coaching staff. In fact, they are the second youngest team in the NFL. Both teams are top 3 offensively but, the Saints have better stats overall.
Chicago vs. Philadelphia
Being a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan makes me super excited for this upcoming tilt. The Bears are sadly 3-7, while the Eagles are currently a dominating force in the NFL, sitting atop the league at 9-1. I expect the Eagles to destroy the Bears with a win of 34-12.
In spite of the fact that the Bears record shows a less than .500 winning percentage, their on the field ability should not reflect their losing reputation. The Bears had strong showings beating the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Carolina Panthers earlier in their season. They also fell short to the playoff contending Detroit Lions by a mere field goal.
There's so much to say about how well the Philadelphia Eagles have been competing. This is without a doubt, their best season since their 2004 Super Bowl run. It has been a long time coming, and their loyal fans are definitely in support of their hard work. Superstar quarterback, Carson Wentz, is currently exceeding all expectations and is a potential favorite for the MVP award.
This Sunday afternoon game will be played at the Lincoln Finacial Field in Philadelphia. The Eagles have a formidable defense that will challenge the Bears to succeed offensively. They also have the number one scoring offense and are second in rushing yards per game. The home advantage to the Eagles will help them soar to victory and take down the roaring Bears.
Here's to week 12 of the NFL.
