Disney, We Want Our OG Shows Back, NOW

We miss early 2000s Disney and we're not getting any younger.

The Disney Channel

I don't know about you, but I grew up watching Disney shows. I love Disney but let's face it, the shows aren't that great anymore. They won't ever be able to top early the 2000s' shows...that's for sure. Those shows will always be the OGs.

So here's the real question, why won't Disney bring them back?

I want to see reruns of my favorite Disney shows. I shouldn't have to search on YouTube to try and find them. I'm going to propose a great idea to Disney, free of charge:

DISNEY CHANNEL'S THROWBACK THURSDAY.

You know how Nickelodeon changes to Nick At Nite around 9:00 PM? If Throwback Thursday isn't of interest, then please turn on the original Disney shows after a specific time.

Everyone who had the pleasure of watching the original shows when they were still running deserves at least that. OG Disney had much better content, and we need it back in our lives!

GIVE US THE RERUNS.

I know there are a lot of original shows, but I’m just going to say what we’re all thinking, we miss these the most and here’s why:

1. The Proud Family

The Proud Family is my favorite animated family. Bonus points for being one of the very few Disney shows centered around ethnic people. Mr. Proud had the worst luck. More than anyone I know, and he could not catch a break. Mr. Proud, I can relate.

Suga Mama was my favorite. She does what she wants, and she’s a badass, plus her side kick Puff is also cute.

Overall, this family is great, and I feel like they’re dysfunctional in many ways, but when push came to shove, they came out on top.

2. Kim Possible

Kim is by far the best superhero out there. She balanced school, her home life, social life and enemies all while being a teenager, and that, alone, is stressful.

Kim is so empowering, and growing up I wished I could be a spy like her.

3. Even Stevens

Louis Stevens is the most ridiculous person I have ever seen. I don’t understand how he comes up with such crazy ideas, but it’s beautiful. He was always getting yelled at over something, and all I could ever do was laugh at him.

Beans was my favorite, though. He made himself a part of the family, and even though the family was annoyed by him, they thought of him as a part of the family too.

Brb while I cry because I miss this show so much.

4. Phil of The Future

I will never get over this show. WHY DID PHIL GO BACK TO THE FUTURE? HE WAS SUPPOSED TO STAY WITH KEELY! These are the kinds of things that keep me awake at night.

On the bright side, Pam was a great little sister. She was always up to something and was an evil genius.

I need to go to the year 2121 and hug the family, even though I’d be 123 years old. Maybe I’ll find a way to teleport instead.

5. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody

They were, are and will always be the best twins.

This show was the most entertaining compared to the others, and I loved everything about it. Everyone at the hotel got under each others' skin, but no matter what, they were family. Real talk, though, I don't understand how Zack and Cody didn't get their mom kicked out for good.

6. Lizzie McGuire

If I had a Disney life, Lizzie would be my best friend. She was independent and had a great family and amazing friends.

Animated Lizzie was cool, too, she was pretty much Lizzie's conscience that allowed us to actually see what was going on in her head.

11/10 would recommend finding a friend like Lizzie.

7. Wizards of Waverly Place

Who else tried their spells or wanted to make their potions? I loved being a part of the adventures with the characters, and I honestly thought I could be a wizard like the Russos. I always thought the concept of wizardry was cool, especially when this show was out.

I wanted to be like Alex so badly. She had the look, the hair, and, oh yeah, she was played by Selena Gomez.

I'm so glad that Alex let Justin be the family wizard, but I was still low key rooting for her to stay the wizard. Justin deserved it though.

8. Hannah Montana

Just seeing the title and the cast makes me emotional to this day. 'Hannah Montana' was the best thing since sliced bread.

All of the characters came so far throughout the show. They went through a lot, but they always made the most of it.

Besides, Billy Ray Cyrus was always there with his words of wisdom. I miss this show all the time, and 'The Hannah Montana Movie' will always be one of my favorites.

All of the songs in this show were a bop by the way.

9. That’s So Raven

OH SNAP. THIS SHOW WAS EVERYTHING.

Another show that focused on an ethnic family, which made me very happy then and now. Raven, as a character, taught me a lot. Raven always had the best interest at heart...even though things didn't always work out. She didn’t let anyone stand in her way; she was determined to be the best she could be and always had goals. She didn’t let societal standards define her. Also, her family and friends were always supportive, and it showed me the importance of family, blood-related or not.

I have to say I miss this show the most by far, and I wish I could say I saw a vision of reruns coming back.

Growing up on OG Disney shows empowered me because they always said to be yourself, and I looked up to a lot of the characters.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
