We May Be Apart But I Won't Forget You

To my best friend.

Now before I even start, I am not saying our friendship is ending. It’s the subject we don’t talk about. Being apart.

We never had the opportunity to be friends as kids. We grew up in different towns. Went to different high schools. But believe it or not, we always crossed the same paths. It wasn’t until we talked about cheerleading during a shift at the Y that made us grow the friendship we have today.

To the friend I now have as an adult. All I can say is thank you. There are so many things I could say to show you how much I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, but here is a start.

Thank you for all the trips to Buttonwoods. We learned a lot about each other through the windshield of my car. That you’re still afraid of motorcycles. That you definitely cannot wear white while eating ice cream. That we laugh at the same ridiculous vines and YouTube videos and never grow tired of them.

Thank you for all the summer adventures. Whether it was to fairs, airports, or shopping. We have spent a lot of miles to jamming to Taylor Swift, or singing at the top of our lungs to Disney songs.

Thank you for always making my Saturday shifts at work more enjoyable. It wasn’t always the happiest of times but we always made the most of it.

Thank you for always having video evidence of my silly shenanigans. I will always know that if there is a wheelchair in an airport parking garage, it can be turned into a game.

Thank you for always being there when I need it. I know we have our separate lives, and people always tell us that a 4 year age difference is a big one, but it doesn’t change the fact that you’re there for me and I am there for you.

Thank you for dancing with me at inappropriate times. Thank you for singing like we are meant to be on American Idol, even though our singing is more appropriate for the shower.

Thank you for being a friend. My best friend.

As I leave and move to another state, it will never change my friendship with you. Please know that you will always have a key to the house, and a spot in my room just for you. There will be constant skype dates and weekly updates to keep each other posted on our lives. Quite frankly I know that I could not imagine my life without you.

I love you, and thank you for being my singing partner, my shotgun rider, my dinner date and my friend. It’s never goodbye, it's see you soon!

Love Always,

Me

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
