It Doesn't Matter What Sorority You're In, We're All Panhellenic Women

We're all Panhellenic sisters at FSU, so let's embrace it and empower each other.

Greek Life. It's the subject of much controversy. Is Greek life necessary to have the "real" college experience? No, but it is a very important part of my college experience. I find being a member of a Panhellenic sorority at FSU a very rewarding experience.

Now, I can't speak to all Greek Life, but my sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, inspires me on the daily to be a better person. I love my sisters with my whole heart, but I want more from Panhellenic as a whole. I feel that every sorority sometimes fails to recognize that even though we may be sisters of one sorority or another, we are all Panhellenic women. This can be a super powerful connection if we acknowledge it. In a world where women are constantly being torn apart and dragged down, we need to stand together now more than ever. We need to remember that we are all of value and that we should support and love each other. Every single woman has unique traits and talents that should be celebrated. Embrace them and empower your fellow Panhellenic women.

I love events that bring chapters together. For example, Alpha Gamma Delta and Kappa Alpha Theta just had a dinner swap where we sent some women to their house and they would send some women to our house. This kind of event is one of my favorites because we get to interact with women that we might not get to on a regular basis. I sat at a table with two women I had never met before and we hit it off. They were both so polite and sweet. It was so easy to talk to each other and as the night progressed, we found out we knew a lot of the same people! What started out as a great dinner ended in a shopping trip together that night. It was honestly one of the best experiences.

These type of events also crush the stigmas that one sorority is superior to others. I am friends with so many women from other chapters and I have great relationships with them. We respect each other and our sorority, and anyone that doesn't will probably never be my friend to begin with.

So, I never want to hear women tearing down other women from different sororities simply because they're from other sororities because at the end of the day we are all Panhellenic women and in my eyes, that makes us all sisters.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
