Midterm season has arrived everyone knows that means stress. With the exams themselves as well as papers that still have to be written and reading that has to be done, it's easy to get overwhelmed. You have to make time to unwind and practice self-care. Try these things to relax a little when midterms are getting you down.

1. Go to bed earlier

Everyone loves to sleep, especially college students. Since you can't really sleep in, go to bed earlier to feel more refreshed and energized for your classes.

2. Read for leisure

If you like to read, then take a break from the textbooks and read something you enjoy to let go a little bit.

3. Binge your favorite Netflix shows

We do it anyway so why not make some time to do it between study sessions?

4. Take a long shower with scented Epsom salts

Relax and let go by taking a long hot shower!

5. Spend time with catching up with your friends

Sometimes all you've been talking about with your friends is your classes and coursework. Take some time and catch up with life outside of class.

6. Catch up on missed YouTube videos

Sometimes you just don't have time to watch the weekly videos you're subscribed to on YouTube when you're being weighed down by school responsibilities, so take the time to catch up and have a good laugh.

7. Play your favorite video game

Playing games like the Sims, and playing God, can give you a sense of control when you feel like you have none in your real life.

8. Call your parents

Sometimes there's no better listening ear than a mom or dad. They will give you great advise and tell you how proud they are of you, which is to motivator.

9. Vent with your best friend

Kind of like catching up, but with more complaining. Use this time to vent to your friend about your least favorite class and that really stupid assignment, then do the same for them.

10. Follow a study schedule so you make time for you

Make a plan of what to study and when to make sure you have time to take for yourself!

Good luck with midterms, everybody!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
