Here's How To Reduce Your Stress During Exam Season
Yamily Santana

School life is stressful when you have to take exams. I wouldn't say I like testing because I can get nervous. It is normal to feel anxious when you are taking an exam. Exams can be so time-consuming and mentally draining. It would help if you found a way to study. Studying makes it better to get higher scores. Life is like a test, choosing options and receiving answers for our actions and studying sessions to retain information.

When I have a class, I study ahead of time because I wouldn't say I like to cram. Studying ahead of time makes it better for students to do well in their classes. Cramming makes it difficult for a student when they have a lot going on with other classes. School is stressful, and it isn't easy. Try to study before the quizzes and exams, and sometimes people tell me, but I study, and I fail my exams. Try to find different ways to become more engaged in the class.

Many things are happening when you are taking an exam. Just breathe and try to make the best out of it.

At least you are in school, and you are grinding. Keep trying, and even if you fail an exam. speak to your instructor to give you tips to become more successful in the course. Reading the chapters and renting the book should be a must for you. When you read chapters, make sure that you can understand what you are reading. If you do not know what you are reading, you must re-read. Make a study group should be something you can do if you feel like you need more input in the course. Some people study by themselves because it makes them more comfortable.

Having a study group is a genius idea because when you do not comprehend something, your friend can help you understand it. Due to COVID, you can make a virtual study group. It can be challenging to be taking exams because some of us get anxious. We need to breathe when we take exams because it can be challenging to succeed, but it is impossible. Never give up and do not let anxiety stop you because you will overcome it. Before you take an exam, eat a meal and meditate before taking the exam.

When this virus was nonexistent, I used to live in Paterno library because that is where I focus. It's my ideal study environment and I love being surrounded by books and being able to get knowledge from my classes.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
