I don't know about you, but every fall, the thing I'm most excited about is the donning my favorite clothes! I guess you could call me basic, but I live for "sweaters-and-leggings" weather. With that being said, I'm always looking for different ways to make my autumn looks fresh and cute.
While everyone has their own style, the little style pointers I found while searching Pinterest and my favorite fashion blog can be applied to just about anyone's aesthetic. With that being said, here are five ways to freshen up your fall wardrobe this semester!
1. Go for Hats, Not Scarves, for your accessory
While scarves do keep you warm, there are some days when we only use them--admit it-- for fashion points. Hats are always stylish and depending on the kind you reach for, you have endless options and no worries about overheating on the slightly less crisp days!
2. Bring back your spring florals!
The difference between fall florals and spring florals are honestly so slight but also so huge at the same time. Fall florals are usually darker, moodier, whereas spring florals have a nice lightness to them that sticks out in the crowd!
3. Don't Put Away Your Crop Tops
Even as the temperature drops, you can still keep your favorite statement pieces around! A perfect example: the crop top. With a motorcycle jacket, a flannel, a midi skirt or any other fall favorite clothing item, your crop top is ready for another season's worth of wear!
4. Skip the boots; go for booties!
While I love my fall boots as much as the next person, I have to admit that it's hard to stand out when everyone on campus is wearing calf-high boots. Ankle booties are a nice twist on the fall classic, especially if you go for cut-outs or heels (or both)!
5. Bring on the bright colors!
Fall clothes usually are designed with a darker color palette than spring or summer clothes. While I'm a fan of dark colors, it's also a fun twist to grab a bright statement piece to head to class in!
No matter your style, I hope you have a fashionable fall!
