Recently I Took A Vacation, because they're the perfect way to unwind, relax, and make memories with who you choose, wherever you choose. With that being said, there's also a ton of stress and planning associated with vacations. So many things need to be planned, confirmed, reserved, packed, and etc. Therefore, it is always a good idea to prepare ahead of time. Here are the ten best ways to prepare for a vacation:
1. Pack
Packing can make or break a vacation. Like Santa, I'd make a list and check it twice. Everything from eyeliner to socks need to fit into that suitcase!
2. Arrange Pet Care
Sooner rather than later you should plan who will care for your babies while you're away. If you're planning on using a kennel, calling ahead is key to reserve your spot during the busy travel seasons because kennels fill up quickly.
3. Pay Outstanding Bills
Vacations are awesome, but coming home to a house with no lights won't be. So, be sure to pay all bills before departing for your trip!
4. Mani/Pedi
One thing I overlooked before leaving was getting a mani/pedi. This oversight was one that I wish I had prepared for especially when going to the beach for a vacation.
5. Playlists
Travel playlists are the beginning of the vacation for me. I always choose upbeat songs to set the mood for a great trip.
6. Wash Laundry/Sheets
Coming home to clean pajamas and fresh sheets are the icing on the cake after a relaxing week.
7. Alert Your Bank & Withdraw Cash
Alerting your bank of upcoming travel is good way to avoid the bank putting holds on your account. Withdrawing cash is also smart for tipping and for places that don't accept cards.
8. Confirm
It's never a bad idea to confirm your hotel, car service, flights, and etc. In fact, some airlines require you to do so twenty-four hours in advance.
9. Throw Away Perishables
Similar to the disappointment you would feel if you came home to no electricity, coming home to the smell of expired food would be rotten! Be sure to clean out the fridge before leaving!
10. Charge All Electronics
For most, this goes without saying. When in a new place, you are going to want to have your phone charged and available to help with navigating and snapping photos.
