At a time when readings, papers, club meetings and on campus activities have just started to hit full force, being overwhelmed by midterm exams, papers and projects isn't a difficult feat. Here are six ways to survive the stress through practices of self care.
1. Get Moving
It's no secret that exercise is a great source of stress relief. What better way to enjoy fall foliage than taking a quick walk around campus? Or hit the gym or put on a workout video from YouTube.
2. Pause for Netflix
Even though this is probably a large part of your weekly routine, don't forget to reward yourself with a little TV time. Just make sure you don't get too carried away.
3. Explore
Now is as good a time as any to go exploring. Why not visit a museum or a nearby campus or try a new restaurant or coffee shop?
4. Sleep
Don't skimp here. Getting enough sleep is not only going to help you study and retain information better, but it will also keep you from feeling more stressed than you already feel and help keep you from getting sick.
5. Find A Mantra
It could become a playlist theme, a podcast, a meditation or simply a quote you repeat to yourself when you're feeling stressed.
6. Treat Yoself!
Once midterms are over, give yourself a little time to recharge. Paint your nails, have a fun night out (or in) with friends, or go for bubble tea.
