You’re not always going to like everybody, obviously. Sometimes you just don’t mesh well with a person and honestly, that’s really okay. You don’t have to be everybody’s friend, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be a friend to everybody. It takes literally three seconds to be friendly to somebody and it doesn't cost you anything. I'm sure you've heard the old saying "it doesn't cost you anything to be nice," and while I don't want to sound like your mom, it really doesn't. You have the power to make someone's day that much better simply by being a friend. In my case, I love people. I love talking to them, hearing what they have to say, and just being genuine. I like to see the good in people. It's taken practice, but I truly believe that everyone is good and any negativity they have is just a product of something going on in their life. Does this mean that I love every single person that I meet and want to be friends with everybody? (Yes, but for the sake of the argument...) no. However, I do hope that everyone I encounter believes that I will be there for them when they need it because I know that it helps when I need it. To do this, I follow a few simple guidelines. If you're feeling like you want to be a nice person you can follow them too. Here are the five things that I do to be a friend without being their friend with some descriptive pictures to help you out:
1. Say “hi” to them
Hello. Hi. Hola. Aloha. Guten tag. Bonjour. That's all I know off the top of my head.
2. Ask them how their day is going
Feel free to leave out the "bestie."
3. Offer to help them if they need it
Maybe stand up, but that's just a suggestion.
4.Sit by them if they look lonely
Just don't steal their tots.
5. Just be nice smh.
Channel your inner minion, why don't cha.
