Actually, Sheetz is a very real problem for me. In fact, it's all 99 problems that I have going on for me right now.
In two weeks I am going to be moving back to school in south central PA, and the existence of Wawa is, well, nonexistent. For another entire academic year, I am going to have to suffer with having to eat the nasty food that Sheetz produces.
Am I being dramatic about this? Maybe so, but I grew up in the outskirts of Philly, so it's safe to say that I grew up on Wawa. In fact, there are 4 Wawa's within a 10-minute radius of my house. So 2 years ago, when I moved to central PA for college, I knew it was going to be a big change for me because instead of Wawa, I was going to have to live with a Sheetz being just down the road for me.
I remember going into my freshman year--I was so naive thinking that Sheetz wasn't going to be THAT bad.
I was so wrong. Sheetz is disgusting.
And before anyone gets their panties in a twist, let it be known that Wawa was voted America's favorite sandwich shop this year, so you can get out of here talking about Sheetz being even remotely better.
And Wawa is superior for obvious reasons. It has quality food and they actually know how to make a hoagie. My roommate and I both grew up in the same hometown, and the first time we got hoagies from Sheetz, we both looked at each other with a look that can only be described as "WTF am I even eating right now?"
How do you mess up an Italian hoagie?
Wawa just tastes better than Sheetz. It has fresher, healthier food whereas Sheetz just has lots and lots of fried food that half the time doesn't even come out warm, but ice cold.
And remember that nobody can argue that Sheetz tastes better because was Sheetz voted America's favorite sandwich shop? No, it wasn't, and for VERY obvious reasons. I've never had bad food from Wawa, but I've had bad food from Sheetz every time.
Every. Single. Time.
And Wawa is a cheaper alternative as well. Sheetz is outrageously priced, and every time I eat there I want to hit myself because I can't believe that I just paid $8 (That's right, $8!) for a chicken wrap that had one piece of chicken and some cheese and lettuce in it.
At Wawa, I have never spent that much on just one item. I am constantly shocked when I go to the register to pay for my order and find out that my hoagie is only $4 at Wawa. You get more for your buck, and it's actually worth what you spend.
Wawa also has Hoagiefest, which is when any classic sized hoagie is $4.99. That's an amazing deal! Does Sheetz have anything like that? That's a hard no. Once again, Wawa proves to be the cheaper option.
How can you actually believe that Sheetz is better than Wawa in any way, shape or form? The kitchen may always be open at Sheetz, but the greater Philadelphia/New Jersey area wishes it would just close and be replaced with Wawa.
