8 Reasons You Need To Binge-watch "The Crown" This Weekend

Recently I discovered Netflix's award-winning show "The Crown," and I'm obsessed. "The Crown" is an enchanting, captivating show that you absolutely must watch ASAP. Here are 8 reasons why you need to binge-watch "The Crown" this weekend.

1. It's full of the drama that we're all secretly addicted to.

You know what's so attractive about shows like "Friends" and "Grey's Anatomy?" It's the drama. And we're all secretly addicted to it. "The Crown" is based on the British royal family, and, believe me, they have as much drama as any other show you've binged on Netflix!

2. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking (and real).

"The Crown" is obviously set in the United Kingdom. In fact, it was filmed throughout the United Kingdom, which makes for gorgeous shots in places like Balmoral Castle and, of course, London.

3. It's historically accurate so you'll learn without dying of boredom.

Giphy

"The Crown" is a historical drama series, which means that it's based on actual events in British history. So while you're tracking Princess Margaret's romances and gawking over the Duke of Edinburgh, you're learning actual history stuff like the Suez Crisis and the Great Smog of 1952. Pretty cool.

4. The actors and actresses are just incredible.

Claire Foy is an outstanding Queen Elizabeth II, Matt Smith is an enchanting Duke of Edinburgh, and basically every other actor and actress in the show is top-notch. "The Crown" takes TV acting to a totally new level.

5. The British accents are to die for.

Giphy

Let's just admit it: British accents are to DIE for. Every actor and actress in "The Crown" delivers his or her lines in a very convincing British accent, and I love it. You will too.

6. It's well-produced and high-quality.

We've all seen those TV shows that look like they were filmed in somebody's backyard with an iPhone. "The Crown" is the exact opposite. It's produced as if it's a billion-dollar budget movie. Flawless acting, stunning scenery, gorgeous costumes, remarkable cinematography ... it all comes together to create a well-produced, high-quality show.

7. The costumes are shockingly beautiful.

From Queen Elizabeth's dress collection to young Prince Charles' suits to Jackie Kennedy's stunning wardrobe, the costumes in this show are killer and will have you wanting to raid the royal closet.

8. Bits of British humor will keep you giggling.

In all the history and drama and British accents and shots of Buckingham Palace, there are bits of British humor that are bound to keep you laughing.

Now you see that you must binge-watch "The Crown" this weekend. You can find the first 2 seasons of "The Crown" on Netflix, and be on the lookout for Season 3, which is in the works! You'll thank me later.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
