In Pre-K You Learn To Treat Others The Way You Want To Be Treated, My Ex Never Learned That Lesson

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

As I get older, I realized that I am probably nicer than most people. I have always treated other with love and kindness and have always had the mindset of "Treat others the way that you want to be treated" that is just the way I was raised and who I am. It is in my nature.

I have also learned that people do not have the same heart that I do, which is unfortunate.

People live to only please themselves and to make themselves happy at any cost, even if that means hurting others.

In Pre-K we all learn that "sharing is caring" and to use kind words "if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all." Well apparently, we did not all learn that lesson.

The more that I give to others, the more they take from me, without giving anything in return. Whether it be my time, energy, money, or gifts, they do not have a problem with taking anything I have to offer.

The sad thing is, they do not want to treat others the way that they want to be treated, and this is a lot of people these days.

Everyone only cares about themselves and likes to do what is going to benefit them the most. They do not care about others.

Let me ask you this. Would you like to be ghosted by the person you have a lot of feelings for? Would you like to be broken up with over text, without any explanation? And once you work up the courage to ask for one you do not get it? I'll answer that for you. NO.

Nobody wants to get dumped especially over text, in my opinion, that is probably the worst way to break up with somebody.

Would you want someone to treat you that way?

Whatever happened to being adults and having a conversation, even though it may be a difficult conversation to have, it's the right thing to do.

Treating others well is something that we even learn in Sunday school.

Matthew 7:12 says "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." Philippians 2:3 says "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves," These are only a few examples of the things that we learn as children, but some people do not choose to live by those words.

The ugly truth is that there are selfish and cruel people in this world. There is no escaping the hurt that others will do to you, but let it strengthen you and learn from it. But no matter what, do not stop treating others with kindness.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
