I Want to Be a Proverbs 31 Woman
Seeds of Faith

I want to be a Proverbs 31 Woman. I want to be a "woman of worth," where “far beyond jewels” is my value. I want to strive to be a better individual, day in and day out. I want to be considered unique, one-of-a-kind, and surely not easy.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 Woman. I want to be someone whose judgment can be trusted. I want to be independent and aspiring. I want to reach for the stars, all the while being loyal to those around me. I want to stay away from hurting others, even those I barely know. I want to benefit them completely before I try to benefit myself. I want to bring everyone “profit, not loss, all the days of [my] life.”

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. I want to be a provider for my future family someday. Moreover, I want to humble myself before them. I want to do everything in my power to make things satisfying for their lives. I want to be generous and kind, even to those outside my family. I want to be clothed in strength, both physically and mentally. I want to be strong when my faith is tested; I want to be a rock for those who look up to me.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. I want to give big-heartedly and with everything in me. I want to be an open ear, a comforter, and a loyal friend. I desire to be generous above all. I want to “reach out [my] hands to the poor and extend my [arm] to the needy.” I want to give until there is nothing left in me, knowing that God will provide whatever is needed in return. I want to be giving and caring, but not just on the days where it is easy. I want to go outside my comfort zone and sit with a stranger. I want to see others suffering and not pity them, but understand and empathize with them. I want to be compassionate.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. I want my future husband to be someone respected and highly esteemed by everyone he meets. I want him to be “prominent at the city gates as he sits with elders of the land.” I want to be confident in who I am and my God. I want to be “clothed in strength and dignity and laugh at the days to come.” I want to be worry-free, but not careless. I want to have complete trust in my God, my hero, my provider, my savior, my everything.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. I want to “open my mouth in wisdom” with “kindly instruction on my tongue.” I want to be a woman of advice, not a gossiper. I want to be a woman of forgiveness, not a body full of hate. I want to give good guidance and counsel to my future children. I want to be patient with them. I want to be thoughtful, and I want to be admired. I want my future children to “rise up and call [me] blessed” as well as my future husband to respect me. I want to be someone worth praising and approving, but humble enough to know my actions come from my God.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. I want know that “charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting.” I want to fix my actions before I fix my makeup. I want to fix my attitude before I fix my hair. I want to know that my true worth lies within, not in the shape of my body or the clothes in my closet. I want to realize that a woman “who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. “Many are the women of proven worth, but you have excelled them all.” I want to be that woman. Sometimes she seems distant from me and completely unattainable. Don’t let the devil feed your fear. That woman is hidden deep down inside all of us if we choose to let her shine. We are utterly capable of being that woman. I long to be her, not because I am competitive and not because I am jealous, but because I have one Who is above me Who wants more from me. I want to be her because she puts her faith first and her God above all. She is content in who she is and in who her God made her to be. She knows that God is with her, and His plans are better than she could've ever imagined. I want to know Him just like she does.

“Acclaim her for the work of her hands, and let her deeds praise her at the city gates.”

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

Come and strive to be one with me.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
