Vulnerability could change the world. Those who take the initiative are those who are going to strive the furthest and become a true leader. Be the one to say “I love you” first, take a stand, say how you feel. Nobody can make a difference in the world by just sitting back and keeping to oneself. Be that person to step up to the plate and do the things that scare you the most. Being vulnerable can lead to beautiful outcomes.
The biggest problem is the fear of judgment. We are all afraid of what other people are going to say or think based off of our vulnerability. The real problem is, we are all vulnerable. We are afraid of “what could be,” and that is exactly what is holding us back.
Communication is my greatest downfall. I find it difficult to express the way I am feeling. I become overwhelmed with my emotions and cannot put those feelings into words.
But when I do, I find myself happier because I am no longer bottling those emotions inside. I am expressing them and reflecting off of them. By doing this, I have grown. I became not only more outgoing, but almost fearless. The only person I need to please is myself, and those who truly love me will support me in my doings.
What we need to focus on is the greatness that can derive from being vulnerable. The difficult conversations pay off, and if they don’t, then it was not truly meant to be. Imagine the person you love telling you that they love you back after you say it for the first time.
Imagine new friendships and relationships from taking the courage to start a conversation. Picture that promotion or pay raise... maybe even a new job opportunity. Being vulnerable is what will get you to the next step. My advice to you is to forget the fear of rejection or disapproval, be straightforward, say what is on your mind, and live your life to the fullest.
You only have one chance to make an impact, start now.
