Dear Senior Year,
I've told myself a million times, I can't believe you are actually here! I still remember when I was a senior in high school thinking those that are graduating college are SO old. And here I am now, four years later (but I don't feel that old). Who knew those years could and go so quickly, yet transform me so immensely. I'm ready for you, senior year, but I feel bittersweet about you finally being here.
Personal
It's crazy finally feeling completely comfortable in a place and then having to make plans to leave. Imagining and planning where I could go to graduate school is super fun, but it's also super nerve-wracking. I have no idea what state I'll be in or who I will be with a year from now. It's conflicting trying to enjoy you, senior year, while also planning for the next step. However, I am determined to make you the best year yet and enjoy each moment.
I promise you I will go on crazy adventures, make late-night food trips, and stay up talking to friends just to keep your spirit alive.
I promise to do well in school and work, as I expand my academic career.
I promise always make time for trips to the refuge and weekend frisbee tournaments.
I promise to get grad school applications in on time.
I promise to still love you when my wallet is empty at the end of the weekend.
I promise to call home every so often.
I promise to do my best to plan for the future, but not let it worry me.
I promise to not take you for granted by staying present.
Personal
I am so excited to have a year of feeling at home. After the craziness of transferring, it is refreshing to have a year of getting closer with my current friends and further pursuing my interests. I feel I can be completely myself with others, which is so freeing. My goal is to prioritize people this year, because next year we may end up in different states. Senior year, please don't come and go too fast.
So, senior year, I'm glad you're here and I hope you treat me well. I also hope I don't grow up too much after you and always remember the silly-not-so-serious days of college. I promise to cherish you all the days of my life, as the time before I entered the adulting world.
Sincerely yours,
Angela
