Planning a trip to San Francisco? Deciding where to go can be difficult, so here are ten places I'd recommend one check out! This list has some great places, but there are so many more to be discovered!

1. Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park stretches for miles and miles from east to west across San Francisco. It's packed with a wide variety of lush foliage and plant life to be explored, as well as bountiful eucalyptus trees that provide ample shade. Whether it be for a stroll or a to bask in the sun, Golden Gate Park is perfect for all sorts of activities.

2. Haight Street

This street in San Francisco has lots of history. Haight Street is widely-regarded as the birthplace of the hippie movement, which was in 1967 (the Summer of Love). It is a long commercial street with many storefronts and restaurants. This street in San Francisco has lots of history.

3. Alta Park

Nestled between Divasadero and Fillmore streets, Alta Park is a park in the Pacific Heights of San Francisco. It offers a great view of the bay, and is a dog park to boot.

4. Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge is a must when visiting San Francisco. The Bridge is truly a feat, and walking across it gives you a sense of scale. It has a great view of the ocean and lets one feel the ocean winds.

5. Land's End

Land's End is a series of hiking trails pushed against the shores of San Francisco's west side. Near Ocean Beach, the sunsets framed against the water are something to behold. It also offers some great trails for hikers.

6. Octavia's Green

Octavia's Green is in the Hayes Valley of San Francisco. It offers scenic views and a milder version of the city's hustle and bustle. The stores and restaurants there provide many options for all sorts of people.

7. The Castro

The Castro is a district of San Francisco filled with vibrancy and action. Street performers often frequent this part of the city. There are many non-conventional stores to check out.

8. Upper Fillmore/Pacific Heights

If one is to travel up Fillmore Street towards Pacific Heights, some of the best restaurants in the city can be found. If expensive but delicious meals aren't on your menu, you can walk around Pacific Heights and see some of the most luxurious homes in city.

9. Dolores Park

Dolores Park is towards San Francisco's downtown. It is a very big park with a great overall view of the city, and tons of people will flock there to have picnics and just enjoy the weather.

10. Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks are easily recognizable in San Francisco as the two biggest hills in the city. Traveling up to the top of one of them can be daunting, but the 360 degree view of San Francisco in all its glory makes the struggle worth it. This spot in San Francisco lets you appreciate the city in its totality.

These are some of my favorite places, but there are so many more to be discovered as well!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
