“Nothing is yet in its true form.” -C.S. Lewis

Creation inspires and amazes us, and ultimately reveals the magnificence of the Creator. I recently had the chance to visit the Grand Canyon and witness the splendor of a sunset on the South rim. This was without a doubt one of the most awe-inspiring sights I have ever experienced, but it is only a veiled image of God’s glory. In all of its beauty, Grand Canyon does not even come close to what is to come. The Wonders of the World do not even scrape the tip of the iceberg. The most wondrous aspects of Creation are but flawed representations of Earth before the Fall. Creation at its pinnacle pales in comparison to what our Creator intended for us. The most magnificent scenes of Earth do not come close to the extent of glory Creation once held. Aurora Borealis, in all of its splendor, is flawed. It is but a mere replica of Creation before the Fall. When sin entered the world, along with it came sickness, hurt, and all things imperfect. The world as we see it, even at the paramount of beauty, does not hold a candle to the magnificence of Eden. God intended His children to live life abundantly in a perfect world, devoid of death and darkness. The paradise of Eden held beauty unimaginable until man chose to sever himself from perfection and death cloaked the Earth in darkness. The world is flawed because of the Fall. Mankind struggles, suffers, and groans with all of Creation as a result of the corruption that ravished the world when sin entered.

Mankind is fallen, but never beyond hope. Eden is attainable once again. Jesus died to restore life and through Him alone can we experience redemption and salvation from the Fall. A day will come when mankind, as well as the Earth will be restored to its full beauty. No longer will we experience life behind the veil. Earth’s greatest wonders cannot even prepare our eyes for the beauty we will see in Him. “For now we only see a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)

I find it baffling to fathom the awe we will experience when we finally see in full, rather than in part! What a glorious day it will be when we finally behold the glory beyond the veil! Oh the joy, unparalleled joy, we will have on that glorious day! Oh the unimaginable wonder and rapturous delight we will experience when we see Him face to face! Oh the beauty we will find in His nail-scarred hands that formed the Earth, sky, and sea!

“LORD, haste the day when our faith shall be our sight…” (Carl Boberg)

There is oh so much more in store.

Romans 8:22-23- “We know that the whole Creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
