Remember watching Disney movies as a kid? I bet you didn't understand what the meaning or life lesson of each story was. Well, as an adult, I re-watched these movies and found the life lessons hidden in them. Animal or human, these movies all have something to teach us about the real world with the main characters' decisions.

1. Thumper from "Bambi."

Life lesson: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Interpretation: Be kind with your words and resist saying something negative.

2. Merida from "Brave."

Life lesson: You can decide how you become what you're destined to be.

Interpretation: You can choose the path, you don't have to follow one someone has made for you already.

3. Ariel from "The Little Mermaid

Life lesson: You shouldn't want to change your body for love.

Interpretation: A man should accept you for all your flaws; he should see them as treasures.

4. Anna and Elsa from "Frozen."

Life lesson: A sister's love can help conquer over fear.

Interpretation:Family is sometimes more important than a guy, even if the guy is the one for you. Family comes first.

5. Pocahontas from "Pocahontas."

Life lesson: Love knows no skin color.

Interpretation: It doesn't matter if you're black, white, brown, or a different race; it never matters when in love.

6. Tiana from "Princess and the Frog."

Life lesson: Money and status mean nothing when you're in love.

Interpretation: Who cares if your rich or poor, or a prince or a pauper? If I love you, I love you for who you are inside. What's on the outside doesn't matter.

7. Nemo from "Finding Nemo."

Life lesson: Think twice before making a decision.

Interpretation: Think of the consequences and the benefits of a situation. It could either save your butt or put you in a place you don't want to be.

8. Rapunzel from "Tangled."

Life lesson: You can be that person in your dream.

Interpretation: Don't let anyone tell you you can't become a doctor or a lawyer or whatever else you want to be; show them that you can.

9. Pinocchio from "Pinocchio."

Life lesson: Respect your parents.

Interpretation: Your parents do so much for you. Respect them, because if they weren't here to support you, your life would be drastically different.

10. Mulan from "Mulan."

Life lesson: Just because you're a woman doesn't mean you can't do a man's job.

Interpretation: The difference in our bodies means zilch to a job. We can do anything any man can do. We can be big business CEOs and well-known lawyers.

11. Hercules from "Hercules."

Life lesson: When you become well known, don't forget about those who supported you.

Interpretation: Don't surround yourself with those who aren't truly your friends or support system; surround yourself with the ones who followed your journey from the very beginning.

12. Megara from "Hercules."

Life lesson: You don't need a guy to save you all the time.

Interpretation: Yes, there are times you will need a guy to come help you, but you are a big tough girl who can solve problems on your own time without a guy voicing in on what you should do instead.

We can see that we have learned many things from these characters. What we need to do is apply them to the lives and those of the future generations. Let's shape them to change the future.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
