Valentine's Day is literally one of the cutest days of the year. The red roses come out, along with the assorted chocolates that could either taste like strawberry or toothpaste.

Valentine's Day is the day we get those silly cards in school, passing them out with a heart-shaped lollipop or a pink donut from Dunkin.

It was different when I was a kid. Now, I think it's so much more special than what everyone portrays it to be.

Of course, when you're in a relationship, you should always show you love your significant other all the time. Your job is to always keep them happy, no matter what.

But Valentine's Day is the one day, aside from your anniversary, to really show how much you love that person.

It's more than just gifts and a dinner date.

It's really just about expressing that love, that true love for the love of your life.

Sure, you always get the assumption that the guy is supposed to take care of this. It's all on him. He is supposed to plan the day out and pay for absolutely everything.

No, stop right there.

Valentine's Day isn't a free meal, nor is it a plead for a shower of gifts.

No.

The gifts are just extra. It's the thought that really counts. I choose to buy my boyfriend gifts because I want to. For real, he deserves it for everything he does for me.

But I'm not going to force my boyfriend to get me things because it's not just him in the relationship. It's both of us. We're a team.

It's the ideas, the laughs, the dreams. You appreciate your love every day, but you have this one day to really remind them.

Valentine's Day is a day to reflect on and remember the best times in your relationship, and it's all about falling in love all over again.

Yes, every single day, I fall in love with my boyfriend, and it gets stronger.

That's why Valentine's Day is precious. It's the day to celebrate love.

It's beautiful.

True love is unconditional, and I love seeing that within my own relationship. But I don't need Valentine's Day to remind me of that. I wouldn't want to be with anybody else.

So, please bring out the flowers, chocolates, and cards. But remember to express your love through yourself, not through objects.

Remember the precious moments, and realize why Valentine's Day is important.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
