Using A Planner To Stay Organized This Semester

With the new semester here you have probably made some promises to yourself about what you're going to do this semester. You know last semester you slacked off just a little bit and you want to find ways to make up for it this semester, but you're not sure how. Well, one start to doing great this semester is staying organized! By staying organized you will know when all of your test and quizzes are and when to study for them! There are many different ways to stay organized, but these are the few that I use to make sure my semester goes smoothly.

1. Get A Planner

Having a planner will save your life in college! It's so easy to not stay organized in college, but with a planner it makes everything about college just seem a little less stressful. This is the first step to staying organized this semester and probably the most important step.

2. Color Coding

This may seem a little extreme to some people but I think that this is one of the key steps to staying organized! By color coding your classes you will know exactly what you have due that day for that specific class. It makes you planner look more organized and look a little more clean!

3. Write Down All Your Assignments

Even if it is something little that you think that you'll remember, write it dow anyway. There is nothing worse than thinking that you will remember an assignment and then forgetting it because you forgot to write it down!

4. Decorate Your Planner

I know it may seem a little silly, but instead of looking at a plain boring planner every time you pull it out make it your own! If you have a boring looking planner there is a really good chance that you never want to use it, but if you decorate it and make it your own you are always going to be wanting to write stuff in it!

5. Have A Great Semester!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
