Emoji are something that I have always had a natural inclination for. Whenever I send a text to my friends and family, I can't refrain from not posting a "smiley" or a "face with tears of joy." In my opinion, a simple text message or email can metamorphose into a lively sentiment and conversation with the addition of emoji. In other words, emoji intensify the quality of the conversation as well as add "life" into it.
Emoji can be seen as an empowering mechanism which elicits the elixir of life. Since they enthrall me to a massive extent, I have indulged myself into in-depth research regarding the origin of emoji. It turns out that emoji have originated from Japanese mobile phones in 1999 and has transcended all borders to emerge as a huge cult in American culture.
Also, there is a complete surplus of diverse emoji signifying multiple cultures globally and they serve as a tool of connecting us together internationally. We can learn more about other cultures by simply scrolling down all the emoji revolving around nationality and culture.
Emoji are grouped into categories: Smileys and People, Animals and Nature, Food and Drink, Activity, Travel and Places, Objects, Symbols, and Flags. This has served as a mind-blowing asset when I have had to post on Facebook or Instagram because emoji vibrantly animate your current situation or experience into a power-packed one. A simple emoji can convey so many things without needing to use written words. According to my research, I found out that Japanese artist Shigetaka Kurita brought about the spark of the world's first emoji.
After his creation, America has also adapted his emoji and added many more highlighting the various types of people who make our a world an increasingly versatile place! In fact, there has been an update in Emoji in 2015 when they introduced five new skin tones to further showcase the diversity of many ethnic groups and cultures. Thus, the evolution of emoji and the heightened variety of it prominently proves its overarching hallmark effect on people like me!
