The Odyssey is already an amazing place for young writers to take their perspectives and reflect on their own identities. This is a perfectly great way to utilize social medias but I want to utilize it not only for self reflection but for community reflection. I want the Odyssey to be a place where articles can reach audiences and hit home for them but then to dig deeper into what it means to be a community member rather than a bystander. As a millennial, there are enough issues to talk about and it's time to get into adult conversations about them. This is the place where we can do that - while relatable articles are great, it's also time we try to have our audiences make some big realizations about the society they are living in. We can be relatable and stand as a unit and still have factual, important, and worthy articles speaking on issues that we find important everyday. It's time that we hold our writers accountable to speak up for their passions. I will utilize the Odyssey to be a place for action rather than reaction. Speaking up instead of keeping things quiet. Reaching out, digging deep, hitting home and creating a generation of people ready to stand up for what they believe in.
