My name is Amari Gilmore (Mari for short) and I am a twenty-something year old black girl with a passion for writing; obvious right? As a child, I struggled with various unhealthy habits that caused me to forget who (and whose) I was. Because of my own experiences with nasty self-talk and ugly self perception, I know just how important it is to share words that are positive, uplifting, and full of love.
