The time has finally arrived, the end of this fall 2016 semester. It has been a really odd year, to say the least. I am eternally grateful for this semester, it has given me some of the most amazing friends a gal could ask for. I want to take a moment in the chaos that is finals week, to reflect upon this semester.

St. John's you are truly beautiful in the fall. Even if I was sweating to death in September from your heat. Side moment, why is it that Queens is always really hot or really cold? I swear there is no middle ground. But, I truly appreciated the scenic views in my philosophy class. We can all say that we have taken a picture of the library and great lawn during the fall.

The political sphere was intense, but I am proud that we stand united. Put away political or personal views, we are a strong community. I say this as a commuter, who has only ever felt at home at SJU. I am proud that we have discussed our differences, and for the most part, we all respect one another.

To my classes this semester, damn you kicked my ass. But, I am grateful for all the valuable information I have learned. I have met Professors who truly love our community and what they do. Also, I am going to give a shout out for a moment. Dr. Cocozzelli you are the man, seriously, thank you from the bottom of my heart for extending our deadlines.

I have met such lovely people this semester, from class to honor societies, and sometimes waiting in line for tea. The random conversations that sparked, well I am grateful for the friends that have come from those moments.

The events this semester were few, but always when they were desperately needed. For the horse and carriage ride during winter carnival week to the cannoli station. Thank you, for making me stop worrying about finals and projects for a moment. To take a step back and remember the Holidays coming up and to be grateful. For the firework show and the crowds running to DAC for free cake. Thank you, for making me die from laughter as you ran for a piece of cake.

The library, you are a magnificent gem. Thank you for giving me a warm or cool place, depending on the weather, to study and finish work. The countless articles that have been written in the North Third Floor library are endless. I will be grateful for you, except during finals week when everyone remembers we have a library. Please, we library people beg of you, do not talk over the cubicle area.

To the stores around campus that sell Bubble Tea, thank you for furthering my addiction. I have spent more money than I would like to addict on a milk tea and boba combination. Yet, it was a needed break from the stress of college.

I hope everyone has a magnificent winter break! We have earned this time to binge watch Netflix, see our friends back home, and wear pajamas all day.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
