With the holidays fastly approaching, so is the time when you are asked the million dollar question, "what is on your wish list?" My family celebrates Christmas, and I have come to an age where I have realized how fortunate I am. For me now, the gifts that make me beyond happy are things like socks and groceries. However, I can't help but think of unrealistic gifts that would brighten my day. Hey, there's no harm in dreaming, am I right?

1. World Peace.

I mean, come on, how nice would it be to wake up on Christmas morning in a world where there was no more war, everyone is able to live a sustainable life, and global warming didn't exist anymore!!

2. No college debt.

What college student wouldn't want to be gifted with free college? Not only would us students be debt free, but so would anyone else in our lives that helps us out with these expenses (thank you, mom and dad)!

3. No more college textbooks.

I miss the days in high school where we never needed to worry about textbooks because every teacher had a class set. Who knew that ONE SEMESTER'S worth of textbooks could cost the same as an Apple iPad. Oh, and don't even get me STARTED on those access codes! Why must I buy a book that I know I'll never use? To be gifted with never having to pay for one again would be a dream come true.

4. Free gas.

Man, the things I would give in order to never have to pay at the pump again. If I got a voucher saying I get gas for free for the rest of my life I would be a happy camper.

5. My dream job/salary.

To never have to worry about landing my dream job after college would take the world off of my shoulders. On top of that, if I had job security and a salary high enough that I would never have to worry about money being tight sounds ideal.

All kidding aside, the holidays are a time for giving and being thankful for all that we have. I am so thankful to be able to go to college, have my own car, the ability to land my dream job, and an amazing family. Never forget to give thanks for all that you have!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
