Unofficial North Georgia Summer Bucket List

So, you've found yourself living in good ol' D-Town during the summer, huh? Maybe you're taking some summer classes, working somewhere on the Square or just pretending to be an adult a little bit longer. Personally, I'm taking a Maymester class (no, I don't hate myself, and you're about the eighth person to ask me that) and then interning with a local law office. For one reason or another, we've found ourselves in Dahlonega outside of the traditional school year, and it's a little bit of a ghost town. To alleviate our boredom, I've compiled a list of fun, mostly outdoor activities for under $50 and within an hour or so of D-Town that I hope to accomplish this summer. I've also tried to include prices and addresses.

11. Hop in the car and go on a coin flip adventure.

Cost and distance vary, but the fun is endless as long as you've got a full tank of gas.

12. Eat at a new restaurant in town every week.

We all have our favorites, like Chick-fil-A and Pueblo's, but there are so many little restaurants around like Dipper Dan's and Wagon Wheel that most of us college kids haven't gotten adventurous enough to try yet.

13. Splurge on a meal or tour at one of the wineries.

Whether it's Cavendar Creek, Wolf Mountain, Frogtown, Montaluce, Three Sisters, or one of the many tasting rooms around the square, this is bound to be a good, classy time...as long as you've got a little cash burning a hole in your wallet.

14. Don't actually kick the bucket from the stress of working or taking classes over the summer.

Enjoy your summer, UNG-Dahlonega students!
