The University of Michigan is a huge campus with a ton of spaces to study. However, most people have their favorite study spot. Usually, where you study speaks to your personality or the type of person you are. Here is the character from The Office you are based on where you study at the University of Michigan:
1. The Ugli – Michael Scott
If you are in the Ugli, you have to plan on seeing at least five to ten people you know. For Michael Scott, this is exactly what he needs. He loves socializing and being able to mess with people while they are trying to focus.
2. The Law Library – Pam Beesly
Pam would enjoy the Law Library’s quiet and studious atmosphere. It's peaceful and filled with beautiful architecture that Pam would love. She could use the sculpted ceilings as inspiration for her drawings.
3. The Stacks – Angela Martin
If you’re in the stacks, you don’t have to worry about being bothered by ANYONE. For Angela, who basically hates everyone, this would be perfect. She could be confined in her very own tiny space with absolute silence.
4. Ross School of Business – Ryan Howard
Ryan is a young guy in business school. He’s smart, and a good listener. He could easily be seen hanging out in the Winter Garden with his other business school friends and trying to pretend like he doesn’t associate with the rest of the office (especially Michael).
5. The Union – Dwight Schrute
Dwight has an interesting way of thinking and overall existing. He doesn’t go with the status quo; he just does his own thing. The Union isn’t the most typical place to study on campus, and it has a different vibe than most other places. It attracts a different kind of person–one who wants a comfortable space and wouldn’t mind lounging back on a coach to do work.
6. Ref Room – Jim Halpert
The Ref room is similar to the Law Library – which makes sense because Jim and Pam seem to be into the same kind of things. It’s quiet, academic, and beautiful. Jim is a laid-back person and would do well in a place where he can focus and be productive.
7. Au Bon Pain– Kevin Malone
Au Bon Pain, or ABP, is perfect if you don’t mind noise, and you like to eat while studying. For Kevin, this would be ideal.
8. Expresso Royale – Kelly Kapoor
If you want a quiet study space, you DO NOT go to Expresso Royale. For people like Kelly, however, this is perfect. She loves talking and socializing and Expresso is one of the only places where she won’t receive glares from across the room for being too loud.
Where you study says more about you than you might think. If you're studying in the same place as Michael Scott or Dwight Schrute and think maybe this isn't right for you, you might want to find a new favorite study spot.
