To be unemployed is the dream for many people. I mean, when you're unemployed, you have all this time to start new DIY projects, exercise for the best body, binge watch garbage TV shows (that we all secretly love)—but to be honest, unemployment sucks!
When I left the country this summer, I had a secure job to come home to and all was supposed to be good in the world. Unfortunately, they got rid of part-time hours and refused to work around my schooling.
So, FML basically. Now, I am unemployed and living off of savings, which has truthfully not been the dream.
1. Life is too slow for comfort.
People may like living in the slow lane, but I personally cannot. My mind is constantly running, so I am literally going insane with my life buffering like an old 1990s computer. I should take a nap.
2. Staring at the wall only takes so much work.
I literally wake up in the afternoon and stare at the ceiling determining if it's worth it to get food or not.
3. Exercising takes longer than it should.
Exercising is a perfect thing to do that takes up time, especially when you get distracted during that "hour." Dancing is an exercise, though, but not staring at your dirty carpet for an hour.
4. You lose all motivation. For anything.
Laziness has never been so true. 72 hours of free time each week? Time to start planning five-hour naps and DIY projects that I'll never finish.
5. As the travel addict I am, I can't travel very far.
At least I have a giant world map and my imagination. That's kind of the same thing.
6. But a positive is that I don't have to look nice every day!
No pants, no bra and the option to never leave my house. OK, so unemployment might be alright. Some days.
7. But then again, I've lost my mind.
Sitting around all day, getting distracted by random objects and talking to walls has released the wackiness in my head.
Now, it's time to go find a job before I rip my hair out.
