I want to take the time to give my condolences to those who passed away from the Manchester bombing and give my sympathy to those who were injured and affected tragically.
When I saw the news I just asked myself Why? Why do people do these things?
Yesterday I was going on my break at work when I saw on the news that their was a massive explosion at an Ariana Grande Concert in the UK. My jaw dropped when I saw the news and I immediately started telling my coworkers and even researching the news on the internet to see if it was actually true. My heart sank.
Individuals wanted to attend a concert with their friends and family and watch one of their favorite singers perform. It was supposed to be a joyous night for them to remember. It was a night to remember but not a joyous one. It was a terrifying and heartbreaking night that I cannot even bare to think about what the individuals who were there must have been through.
Today I was at the gym looking at the news on the television as more information was revealed. An eight year old girl was killed among 21 others. More than 50 people injured. Parents looking for their children to make sure they are safe. I also saw that a suspect was arrested for the bombing. I am only hoping the police come to find who is responsible for the devastating event as that person has caused so much damage and pain.
A 15 year-old girl killed as well. My mind is blown as I keep scrolling through the news, videos and the internet.
My mind not only thinks about the individuals attending the concert but especially Ariana Grande, who's goal was to perform an upbeat and memorable concert for all. It was memorable but not upbeat, as to who would have thought that a fun night out to her concert would turn into a tragic nightmare.
Among many individuals Grande is heartbroken and is speechless about the event. She tweets to fans that she is sorry, which I commend her for to ease what has happened even if her tweet helped just a little. Many Celebrities were reaching out about the event on social media as well to help fans cope. Although it is not Grande's fault, I can only imagine how she is feeling.
My heart goes out to Grande and all of the individuals who lost loved ones and had to live through this. I am sure I am not the only one who does not understand why these things happen. What I do understand though as that we need to stand together to stay safe. We need to help those in need. We need to take precautions. We need to live for every moment. We need to expect the unexpected because the world we live in is a thrilling but scary place.
This could have happened to anyone attending that concert.
Rest in Peace to those who have passed and I hope those affected by the event are healing in the best ways they can.
