Welcome home, little one! You've just made one of the best decisions of your life: joining a sorority—a world full of secrets, sisterhood, and socials. While this semester of learning leading up to your initiation is an exciting time, it comes with a lot of changes. Being a "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" fan, I couldn't help but think of my time as a new member about a year ago from today to be not far off from the trials and tribulations Kimmy felt when she was dropped off in the middle of the Big Apple to start her life over. Let me explain.

1. Before you became a new member of this wonderful sisterhood you've just discovered, things were boring.

Let's face it, that's one of the primary reasons you rushed, right? Things were just boring, and you couldn't possibly live another year in the dorms so rushing seemed like the best way out of dull dorm life.

2. Making your decision on Preference Night may have been scary, but the Rho Gammas were right there with you.

3. Bid Day is here, and you see that you got into your favorite house!

4. The night is mostly a blur of hugs, excited introductions, pictures, and dancing—and also tons of sweet treats!

5. You begin to realize you don't have to censor yourself like you did for all of recruitment.

Meanwhile all the older members are still censoring themselves, trying to pretend they haven't creeped on you six times before bid day.

6. The next day, you feel like a completely new person!

With some extra pep in your step, you have newfound confidence as you walk to class. As you see sisters and fellow Greeks passing by, you realize you now see campus through a whole new lens.

7. The perks of being a new member of a sorority become apparent.

You'll receive compliments a plenty from the older members, for one.

And someone always wanting to go do something. Even if you aren't feeling up to it, the offer is nice!

8. And on campus you never feel alone and are never worried about finding friends in class.

There's always a fellow Greek to sit next to and strike up a conversation with.

9. The weekend is here, and that means it's time for your first TG.

10. As a sorority girl, you now get to see quite the smorgasbord of fraternity men at various events.

You eye one that is particularly cute in his construction worker costume.

11. And he notices you too. And he's not even that creepy about asking you out. Noice!

12. Cute boys, costumes, and dancing the night away in silly costumes? The first TG is a success!

13. Before costumed events were a thing, you were so awkward at flirting.

14. But now with costumes to build your confidence as well as encouraging sisters, you are killin' it.

15. But there's more to this new life of yours. A sister comes up to you at an event sobbing because her boy toy decided date party was the perfect time to cut things off.

16. And you've become closer with your sisters than ever. So much so that the Snapchats to each other keep getting uglier and uglier.

17. As initiation week arrives, you begin to feel extraordinarily thankful for this sisterhood you've found.

These women have truly become some of your best friends and biggest supporters—you truly found the sisterhood you went through recruitment to find. This sorority is now such a big part of your life, and has given you something in life that you never knew you were missing, until now.

18. So initiation happens, and it's a little bit scary, but all sorts of amazing.

19. With that, your time as a new member of your sorority is officially over! Congratulations.

20. And now it's time to prepare for next year's recruitment.

Yes, even though you feel like you just got here, preparations for a whole new crop of new members has officially begun.

Cheers to all the insanity of sorority life that somehow keeps us sane!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
