The Ultimate Playlist For Finals Week

One More Week...

The Ultimate Playlist For Finals Week
The Times Gazette

After months of tiring school work, the home stretch is upon us. Finals week is next week and it is to be expected that you need some motivation for your exams. So, while you're studying up for your end of the year tests, pop in some headphones and check out this playlist to get you through. Summer is almost here.

Work (feat. Drake) - Rihanna

The first track off my playlist will give you that extra motivation to work, work, work, work, work. Rihanna and Drake's track is still one of the hottest right now, and it deserves your listen. If this song doesn't motivate you to push through finals week, it will at least allow you to take a 5 minute dance break from that 10-page paper you're writing.

30 Hours - Kanye West

If you feel like Pablo during finals week you will probably have yourself a good finals week. Kanye's track "30 Hours" will probably relate with you considering 30 hours is probably how many hours you've spent studying for each exam. Well, just remember, if you love yourself as much as Kanye loves Kanye, you can get through finals. I mean, c'mon, look at how excited Kanye is up there! That will be you!

Sorry - Beyonce

Beyoncé's smash-hit album Lemonade that released last week has made major splashes all over the music charts, and it even makes its way onto my playlist for finals week. This is the kind of track for when you know you failed your finals, but you just don't care (holla!!!!). As queen Bey makes clear above, I ain't sorry about flunking your impossible test. Have a great summer ;).

Bad Day - Daniel Powter

Now, if you fail your tests and you aren't feeling so Beyoncé-esque about it, here's the song for you. This song is a classic and can turn any bad day upside down. By now, you probably have heard this song 100 times in your childhood, but there's nothing wrong with bringing it back out for that finals week heartbreak. If you had a bad day, just sing a sad song just to turn it around.

Bored to Death - blink 182

This is my mood when I'm sitting at my desk for endless cards making study notecards. Blink 182 just announced a massive album and tour for the summer and this is their lead single. So, if you're feeling this track and you too are bored from your studies, check out more of this band's music coming later this year.

Stressed Out - twenty one pilots

I'm not even going to lie, I slept on this song for a while until I realized it was absolute fire. This song has been climbing the charts since it came out and deserves a well earned spot in my playlist. When that stress finally hits you during finals week (which it will at least once), turn on this song because it is a catchy and upbeat one that will make you feel good.

Hype - Drake

With Drake's new album Views, just releasing, I had to throw on one of his new tracks. I felt "Hype" was the most appropriate for the finals playlist because who isn't hype to finish a semester's amount of hard work? Turn up with Aubrey when this song plays through your speaker and get ready for Summer '16.

Finally Free - Stitched Up Heart

Most students can relate to this track because once finals end, they feel they are "Finally Free." Although this is personally not one of my favorite music styles, this song has a unique feature about it. Blast this track after you walk out of your last final.

Champion - Kanye West

YOU MADE IT! By the end of this playlist I hope you've made it through all your finals week woes. With that being said, I hope the heart-wrenching agony of hard work is all over and that you've defeated the hectic semester. You are truly a champion, so what better way to turn up than with a Kanye track? Nothing.

Wild for the Night - A$AP Rocky

SUMMER TIME. With the semester behind you, it's time to have the best summer of your life. Get crazy and enjoy yourself because you are done with another year.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
