Happy Holidays!

Let's face it: we all are ready for this semester to be over. After a week or two, though, being back home tends to get boring. If you want to have the best six weeks yet, look no further! This will be the best winter break yet.

1. Sleep

This is a given, and after finals week, we all need to catch up on our sleep. Spend a day or two to rest, you won't regret it.

2. Spend time with friends.

You likely haven't seen them in a little while. Take some time to catch up.

3. Cook dinner with your family.

Trust me, they'll appreciate it.

4. Go on a picnic-- if it's too cold outside, feel free to have an indoor picnic instead.

Picnics always make me happy. The nostalgia and simplicity of it all is something I think we can all enjoy.

5. Take a bunch of pictures.

You won't want to forget the little things.

6. Be a tourist in your hometown.

If you go to school away from home, coming back can make you appreciate the little things. If there's a new restaurant in town or a place you've always wanted to visit, go check it out.

7. Bake cookies for the holidays.

Who doesn't love cookies?

8. Go to a museum.

Museums are fun to visit with friends. You can even pretend like you're in Ferris Bueller's Day Off if you'd want.

9. Go to an ice cream shop.

Ice cream is always good, even in the winter.

10. Take a day trip to a city near your hometown.

Sometimes you may want to get away. If you have a car and can drive somewhere new, go for it.

11. Donate old clothes.

This is always a good time to purge your closet. It'll make you feel good too.

12. Spend a cozy day inside.

Movie marathons, blankets, and coffee sometimes are all you need for a perfect day.

13. Have a spa night.

We all need some time to take a bubble bath and relax. You deserve it.

14. Clean up.

Sure, it may not be fun, but you'll feel so accomplished.

15. Enjoy being home.

We often forget to take time to appreciate the little things. Spending time with people you love is what the holidays are all about, so take these few weeks to appreciate the ones you love.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
