The Ultimate Bucket List: Spring Break Edition

Hold on tight, it's about to be epic!

The Ultimate Bucket List: Spring Break Edition

It’s spring break season, woo hoo! Which means grab your keys and let's find the closest beach and live there for a week straight. Living in a tropical state, spring break has to be my favorite time of year, as I'm sure it's yours, too, and being that it's season for it now I have put together the most epic bucket list for any spring breaker to complete in a week.

Get tan.

I’m sorry but if you come back from spring break being as white as you were in the beginning, then you failed at being a college spring breaker. The way to succeed in meeting this requirement is lathering up every day in coconut oil (it makes you smell yummy) and beginning your day, whether you are going to spend the day on the beach, going kayaking or just going to work, you never know when you might get a touch on sunlight on your skin.

Find a spring fling.

All a girl really needs is a fun dance at least once in her life. I want to be able to do cute beach dates for seven days straight with a boy I know will be gone after the vacation, then I plan on putting “The One That Got Away” by Katy Perry on replay for about a week straight when classes are back in session.

Go on a spontaneous road trip.

I am up for hidden water springs and to visit the largest swimming pool that hides amongst the world of Florida. Nothing is more exciting then going with a group of friends and exploring something new without a real plan, but just living the life in the moment and embracing our youth.

Try and become famous.

I know that this is a long shot but hey, maybe I end up getting interviewed by the news, or perhaps my Vine or Snapchat goes viral. The world is full of many possibilities. Throw yourself out there and introduce yourself to some newsy-people.

Meet new people.

With the help of social media I think it would be awesome to meet a bunch of people from all over the world during spring break and keep in touch through the Internet and maybe even a group chat, there’s something so interesting about getting to know someone. It would be awesome to keep in touch and always plan a reunion every few years.

Be natural.

Forget the makeup and the straightener; leave all of that at home. Spring break is the time to let the natural hair roam free and to embrace the beauty of your skin and just let it be.

Start and finish a book series.

This is the time to find a book that has a series and just dive into them. With a cup of coffee in the morning time while sitting out on a back porch, enjoying a day by the pool or simply whining down after a long day of adventuring finishing a book series is always a goal I aim for over every break.

Get out of your comfort zone.

Something I believe is good to do every once in a while is to do something out of your ordinary lifestyle. Sign up to go skydiving, or perhaps make a Tinder and go on three dates in one day (well maybe not, but you get what I am saying). Do something the normal you would never do, who knows you may find out that you love it.

Cleanse your soul.

I believe finding your happiness and just taking a chill moment from life is something everyone needs to do from time to time. During the spring time, since the weather is beautiful, take time to do some yoga, maybe a walk in a park, go hiking or simply book a trip to a mountain range of the Grand Canyon and just take a deep breath and relax.

Time alone with yourself.

Not just G-easy needs time to be by their self, everyone needs that little peace and quiet from tie to time. There is nothing wrong with going somewhere alone (unless it’s a dangerous situation) but if it’s a day to go binge shopping or to go watch a movie at the movie theater, even the most outgoing person like myself needs time alone from time to time.

Spring break shouldn’t just be about the hottest parties and having the readiest beach body out of anyone, it should be about being you. So that when you leave spring break you are leaving it on a good note, with a smile on your face telling it “see ya next year spring break!”

Please, have fun and be safe out there kiddos.

Peace and love,

A fellow spring breaker

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
