Summer is finally upon us, and beach season is finally here! Being from Long Island, a summer is never complete unless you go to Tobay Beach at least 12 times. One of my favorite things is stretching out in the sand, and singing along to my favorite songs. We can all agree, that some songs are more beach appropriate than others. Below, are just a few of my favorite songs to tan to, and will make everyone come over to your towel!
1. "Get Busy" by Sean Paul.
This song is infectious, and when he sings about the "sexy ladies wanting to par with us" you can't help but shake it in your Target bikini.
2. "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses.
Because who wouldn't want to go somewhere where the grass is green and the girls are pretty?
3. "Toes" by Zac Brown Band.
Between the months of June-August you'll see plenty of Instagram pictures with lyrics from this song as the caption.
4. "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison.
SHALALALALA -- lets all sing it together now!
5. "California Gurls" by Katy Perry.
Seeing who can do the Snoop Dog rap the best is something I 100 percent recommend doing.
6. "Margarittaville" by Jimmy Buffett.
Jimmy Buffet is the king of beach music, and nobody can convince me otherwise. He is coming out to Jones Beach this summer, and you bet I'm going to be at that tailgate.
7. "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dog.
This is always a crowd favorite.
8. "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney.
"Summertime is finally here..." This is probably one of my favorite songs of all time, and definitely a jam that gets you hyped for all the fun that's ahead.
9. "The Boys of Summer" by Don Henley.
An oldie, but certainly a goodie (warning: If you're with your parents, they will definitely be singing along).
10. "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" by Alan Jackson.
This proves there is never a bad time for a Pina Colada.
11. "Summer of '69" by Bryan Adams.
Hopefully, the Summer of '16 will be just as legendary!
12. "One Dance" by Drake (Wiz Kid, Kyla).
Every year there is one song that takes the cake for "Song of the Summer" and this year I bet it's going to be "One Dance" .
