On June 9th in Chicago, Illinois, UFC 225 will be at The United Center as 2 titles will be on the line with plenty off Fight of the Night matchups taking place. The Middleweight Championship will be on the line as the Champion Robert Whittaker defends his title against the #1 ranked middleweight "The Soldier Of God" Yoel Romero. The Interim-Welterweight Belt is up for grabs as #2 ranked welterweight in the division Rafael Dos Anjos faces off against #3 ranked Colby Covington.
The Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker looks to defeat Yoel Romero and successfully defend his title. The last time we saw Robert was at UFC 213 last year when he defeated Yoel Romero by Unanimous Decision to win the Interim-title. A win for Robert will not only improve his 8-fight win streak to a 9 fight win-streak, He will solidify himself as the Middleweight Champion if he successfully defends the belt against Yoel. Their last bout was incredibly close as Robert did all the right things to shut down the freak of nature that is Yoel.
A win for Yoel Romero would be huge as he really hopes to become the New Champion as Yoel feels his time is here. Yoel looked tremendous as he brutally knocked out Luke Rockhold at UFC 221 when he last fought. Yoel has the chance to even the score with Robert. Robert Whittaker Vs Yoel Romero 3 in future?
The #2 Ranked Welterweight Rafael Dos Anjos looks to shut down Colby Covington and become the Interim-Champion to get a shot at Tyron Woodley. This is honestly the best Rafael we have seen since he decided to move up to welterweight. A win over Colby would not only make Brazil very proud (because of the trash talk Colby flung towards the country), but he would have his opportunity to become a 2 division champion if he could also defeat Tyron in the future.
The last time we saw Rafael was when he dominated Robbie Lawler and won via Unanimous Decision at UFC on Fox 26. "Choas" will strike the world if Colby can once again destroy and dominate another welterweight. Colby is currently on a 5 fight win streak as he continues to promote the "Nerd Bash of 2018" and claiming the Interim-Title then facing the man he has been calling out for some time now, The Champion Tyron Woodley.
The last time we saw Colby in action is when we defeated Demian Maia in a one-sided beating at UFC Fight Night 119, as he called Brazil "a dump and filthy animals" in his post-fight interview.
Regardless of the outcome or winner i am sure the current champion Tyron will have his eyes on his bout closely.
