Uber In Tuscaloosa: All The Pros And Cons

Is Uber good or bad for Tuscaloosa?

Uber recently came to Tuscaloosa in 2016, and it has done pretty well here. But there are always pros and cons.

Pro: If you are drunk you can find a cheap ride home and the person driving you can make some money.

Con: There are a lot of people who try to claim that Uber drivers charge them extra for puking in their car, and cost the company and the driver money. Granted there are those who are wrongly charged, but not as many as people make it seem. They just do not understand the platform and how it works...but of course who reads the terms agreement before tapping continue?

Pro: If you are a college student, it is a great way to make money...if you do it right. Wednesday and Thursday nights specifically as well as weekend nights are primetime.

Con: There are creepy drivers who don't stop talking...yes there are super creepy and annoying drivers out there. If you don't like them and they weird you out, just give them a low review!

Pro: No matter where you need to go, you can always get there. Even if you do not have a car. Thanks to Uber.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.

You know the best beaches and coves to go to.

You have no patience for the guy who can't back his trailer into the water right.

Doing the friendly wave to every boat you pass.

The cooler is always packed, mostly with beer.

Giving the idiot who goes 30 in a "No Wake Zone" a piece of your mind.

You have no problem with peeing in the water.

You know the frustration of getting your anchor stuck.
