With the spring semester rapidly approaching, the mental preparation couldn’t be more real. Winter break is the one time, aside from spring break and summer break, that students get the chance to BREATHE and not think about whether they’re missing any assignments on Blackboard or not.

Before returning back for the spring semester, there are five things that UA students must do before we lose our mental sanity once again.

1. Listen to Drake — Take a Shot for me, while taking a shot and mentally preparing for the upcoming semester:

Mentally preparing for the semester requires blasting this OG Drake single and will take care of all the tears and emotions that you will feel once the semester starts, while taking a shot of you favorite alcohol. We all know how stressful the semester gets as time goes on, why not drown in your academic sorrows before the semester even starts?!

2. Binge watch your favorite shows because you never know when you’ll have time to again:

Whether it’s "Stranger Things," "Family Guy," or "The Office," it’s always best to binge watch some of your favorite shows to help get your mind right before you spiral into a black hole of stress and anxiety. Also, binge-watching your favorite shows is a great way to enjoy the free time that you have, that you may not have once the semester begins

3. Enjoy every home cooked meal that you can before you destroy your body with endless junk food once you come back to campus:

Simple. When mom or dad cooks? Enjoy that meal to the fullest because we all know that once the spring semester starts, Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, Chipotle, Moe's, etc will become our very best friends during our most productive moments. Cooking is cool and all, but who has the time sometimes?

4. Enjoy the freedom of being able to fully enjoy your free time without breaking into mental insanity:

Take the time to enjoy you and your free time by doing some activities that make you happy! Whether it be yoga, binge-watching TV shows, reading your favorite book, or exercising, enjoy the mental break of winter break before the spring semester begins. I mean, when are you going to get the chance to breathe again? Yeah, I don’t know either...

5. Organize your semester to the fullest, so you can maximize your productivity:

Take advantage of the Week At A Glance option when it comes to getting your schedule together. If you have a planner, color code your classes, make a key at the top of each month that correlates to the color of your class, and write in your class schedule for each month of the spring semester. Even though some syllabi won’t be available until the beginning of the semester, you can write in your classes in the Monthly View, and wait to write in your assignments and readings in the Daily View area. You’re welcome!

So my fellow students, before we perish at the hands of stress and anxiety, make sure you fulfill these five “Must-Dos” before starting your spring semester off right.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
