Since 2015 the motto heading into the new year has been "new year new me." While writing a new year's resolution is the first step to a new you, cutting people out of your life who don't deserve to be there is the next. Here's a list of people whom you should cut out of your life in 2018.

Football Shane.

While Shane from the football team may have swiped right on your tinder, it doesn't mean he's the one. 2018 is the year you find someone who is actually worth your while. Athletes who are swiping through Tinder are using their athlete status to trick you. While he may look like a nice, athletic guy... He's really just a lunkhead searching for booty through Tinder.

Emily from Accounting.

Emily was super nice in the beginning. But when you missed class and asked her for notes, she conveniently was 'busy' and could never send you pictures of her notes. Come on Emily, how hard is it to open your damn notebook and take a picture. Someone who hasn't helped you in the past is someone you can leave in 2017. Bye Emily!

Mike, the guy from your sophomore year dorm.

This is the guy you see around campus and frantically fake a phone call to avoid talking to him. He has good intentions... but can definitely be creepy. Although you feel bad for the guy for not having many friends, it's not your job to be his.

Sierra from your freshman year dorm... whose even worse than Mike.

Rooming with her sounded like a great idea at the time... but it's been two years after the roommate break up and she's still bitter. Every time you see her in public she gives you the death stare. Her mom even gives you the death stare. Leave caring about what she thinks about you in 2017, you're way better off without her.

Literally, everyone who goes to your college who is fake nice to you.

I think we're at the time in our lives where we know who likes us and who doesn't. 2018 is the year we stop saying hi to people around campus who we literally cannot stand. I don't care how awkward it is to make eye contact and then not say hi. We're leaving this cliche confrontation in 2017.

Reid, that frat star who isn't even that cute.

He's the kind of guy you start to like... and ghost after he gets arrested with his frat bros over spring break. He's not someone you would ever really date because he's too childish to take seriously. Leave boys who do idiotic, stupid things in the past. Plus, he's not in shape or even that cute... giving time to that kind of guy in 2018 is definitely not the move.

The girl who acts like she's the queen of your campus.

Girls with public Instagram accounts with half nude photos on their page make everybody irritable. In 2018, just unfollow these people and ignore their arrogance. While everyone may be talking about how hot she is, just know you probably have the higher GPA.. which is way more important. After the ball drops, don't pay any mind to people who think they are better than everyone else.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
