The 6 Types Of People Definitely In Your College Friend Group

We've all met them. You probably are one of these people in the eyes of someone else.

The 6 Types Of People Definitely In Your College Friend Group

When you get to college, you're obviously going to meet many new people. With so many new faces, there is a guarantee that you've met at least one person to meet each one of these characteristics.

The Social Butterfly

The Social Butterfly isn't one that needs much explaining. This person is the one who you see with a group of people walking between classes, eating in the dining halls, or studying in the library. If you're this person, you likely have plenty of social connections.

The Partiers

The Partiers are a group of friends that, as implied, love to party. They are likely to go out on Friday and Saturday nights, and you can see them having a good time via their Snapchat stories. They are always at the coolest campus events. Moreover, at least one of these students is involved with Greek Life.

However, despite their consistent partying, they are still in college to learn. They maintain good grades and always find time to study before making plans to go out.

The Stressed Out Friend

There is never just one person that fits this description. While college is a stressful time for all, those who qualify as this friend take it a step farther. You can see them taking up a table in the library, or huddled in the 24-hour room, or getting their third can of Monster from the vending machine. Yes, Urszula, I'm looking at you.

The Caffeine Addict

OK, this one is mainly directed at me, but the point still stands. This person has a problem with drinking WAY too much coffee. They likely have a Keurig machine in their room or are filling their reusable cup with coffee in the dining hall. If there's a Dunkin' or Starbucks on campus, you will absolutely see them walking out with coffee or tea. There are people who enjoy the occasional caffeinated beverage, then there are these people.

The Super Involved Friend

While this friend is super stressed because of their academic career, they are more known for their long list of activities. On top of taking 15-18 credits, this person is involved in multiple clubs or organizations, has a ton of friends, and might even have an on-campus job. One of my "Super Involved" Friends (Hi Marissa) is a campus tour guide, which is perfect because she can connect her personal experiences to her job.

The "I'm Gonna Drop Out" Friend.

This friend is known for the one-liner that has crossed all of our lips at least once:

"I'm gonna drop out of school."

He or she have reached their breaking point more than once and has likely changed their major several times. However, despite their stress, they're gonna stay right where they are. Let's face it, we all want this degree, don't we?

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
