The Types Of Guys That You Will Meet In College

1. The Fraternity Guys

This one is pretty obvious and to be expected. Every campus has their Greek row lined with all of the fraternity houses and filled with the fraternity boys. These guys are actually pretty friendly and always up for a good time. They're often stereotyped as the guys that only want to party and pick up girls, but they can actually be pretty great friends and show you a great time.

2. The Athletes

The big, buff, and tall guys who are always sporting their team's apparel. These are the athletes -- you can spot them from a mile away. They are often pegged as the guys with big egos who lack intelligence but few to none of the guys actually fit that stereotype. Some have hard majors such as biochemistry or mechanical engineering, and not only are they trying to pass those hard classes, but they're balancing that with their practice and game schedule, which isn't easy. Conversations with them can be about their major or their favorite sports teams, but rarely will they sit there talking about how great they are or tell you about their best plays to date.

3. The Nerds

They might not be as attractive as Dylan O'Brien but they're cute in their own ways. They're the guys that know the most random things and will make it pretty obvious that they're smart. They're great to have around for advice or when you need help with something random like fixing your computer, or help with a math assignment. They're funny and cheesy and a good friend to have.

4. The Bad Boys

The guys in distressed jeans, with a dark shirt, and messy hair. These are the guys that skip class, go out all the time, and don't really seem to have a worry in the world. They're laid back and chill but come with a bad background. Sometimes they're fun to have around but it could be better to keep your distance.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
